Centre of Expertise Programme

The Nanotechnology Cluster Programme is part of Finland's national Centre of Expertise Programme. The Centre of Expertise Programme is a special fixed-term Finnish Government programme to focus work on specific areas of national importance. The concept of the programme is to utilise the international-level expertise in Finland's regions. The clusters and centres of expertise participating in the programme are expected in partnership with other centres of strategic expertise to create improved conditions for establishing internationally competitive and attractive innovation environments in Finland.

Nanotechnology in the Centre of Expertise Programme

Nanotechnology has been chosen as a strategic focus area in Finland. The mission of the Nanotechnology Cluster Programme is to foster and strengthen the development and implementation of nano and micro technologies and future materials in Finnish companies.

Accordingly, the Cluster Programme combines world class expertise in universities, research institutes and technology companies all over Finland, and aims at applications in industries like ICT, electronics, mechanical engineering, construction, forest, energy, environment, chemical, health and well-being. Nanotechnology Cluster Programme is an efficient gateway to the Finnish expertise in nano and closely related technologies.
